legislation like H.R. 4437, the Hastert/Sensenbrenner bill--it is time to register to vote to be heard.

Sponsored by the Illinois Hispanic Chamber of Commerce created a partnership with the City of Chicago's Commission on Human relations Advisory Council on Latino Affairs to conduct the largest Hispanic business Development event in the Midwest.

The Latino Council on the Media hosted its annual conference at the Hilton Chicago. The Latino Council on the Media has advocated for inclusion and advancement of Latinos in the newsroom.

The 23rd National Conference of the U.S. Hispanic Leadership Institute took place. The conference had dynamic speakers, hands-on workshops and thought- provoking forums specifically geared towards leaders in political, labor, corporate, and educational spheres.

held follow-up hearings with the Departments of corrections, Children and Family Services, Public Aid, Illinois State Police, State Merit Baord at the James R. Thompson Centre, in Chicago.

"Election Day," voters elected 2 Latinos as U.S. Senators, one from Colorado and the other from Florida. Great News!

National Latino AIDS Awareness Day,The Midwest Hispanic Health Coalition held a March, Forum and Health Fair. The Kick-Off began with State Rep Susana Mendosa, at 9:30am, at St. Pius Church, going to Harrison Park where a forum was hosted by Congressman Luis Gutierrez, followed by a health fair hosted by the Binational Health Week.
On September 28, 2004,
the Illinois Latino Legislative Caucus held a follow-up hearing with the Departments of Central Management Services, Transportation, Human Services, and Employment Security, starting at 10:00am to 2:00pm, at the James R. Thompson Center, 100 West Randolph, in Room 16-503, in Chicago.

IAHSE's Luna Cabana Night, IAHSE hosted a fun filled night of networking and dance with a live band, at the Adler Planetarium & Astronomy Museum's Luna Cabana, in
Chicago. In the picture above you can see the Salsa lessons taking place. The Orquesta Billy Rivera played that same evening. The event was co-sponsored by IAHSE and HISLEA.
