IAHSE has invited Governor Bill Richardson of New Mexico to be this years Keynote Speaker. He currently in his second term as Governor since 2002. Prior to being Governor he served in the U.S. House from 1982-97; US Ambassador to the United Nations, 1997-98; US Secry. of Energy, 1998-2001; He was educated Tufts University, 1970; MA Tufts University, 1971

Executive Vice President, AFL-CIO
Linda Chavez-Thompson was elected executive vice president of the AFL-CIO at the federations 1995 convention and was re-elected to a new four-year term in 2005. She is the first person to hold the post of AFL-CIO executive vice president, and she is the first person of color to be elected to one of the federations three highest offices.
